While the High Sparrow intended to break Cersei's spirit, the humiliation forged something far more dangerous. She kept her eyes forward, fixed on the distant Red Keep, counting the steps in her head, promising that one day, she would burn them all.
Reader's Guide
The arc begins with Cersei's arrest by the Faith Militant after a failed plot against Margaery Tyrell. Imprisoned in the Great Sept and subjected to psychological torture, she eventually agrees to confess her sins to avoid further torment.
Cersei is paraded naked from the Sept of Baelor to the Red Keep, wearing only a bell that rings with each step.
